Gims

Born on 6 May 1986 in Kinshasa, Gandhi Djuna moved to France at age 2 with his family and grew up in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, spending time in foster families and squats until he was 18. He first rose to fame as a member of the group Sexion d'Assaut before launching a meteoric solo career under the name Maître Gims: his debut album, "Subliminal" (2013), sold over a million copies, followed by "Mon Cœur Avait Raison," split into two parts, Pilule Bleue and Pilule Rouge. Since 2019, he has performed simply as Gims. Brother of singer Dadju, he now splits his time between France and Morocco, with a career that has made him one of the most-streamed francophone artists of his generation.
