Héritier Wata

Born on 29 August 1982 in Kinshasa, Héritier Watanabe, known as Héritier Wata, began singing at age 10 at the Saint François de Kitambo parish. He learned the ropes under JB Mpiana with Wenge BCBG, before spending sixteen years with Werrason's Wenge Musica Maison Mère, which he left in 2015 to go solo. Signed to Obouo Music, the label of Ivorian producer David Monsoh, he released his debut single, "B.M," that same year, honored at the Hapa Music Awards, followed by the album "Carrière d'honneur - Retirada." A singer, dancer, songwriter, and founder of the Team Wata orchestra in Kinshasa, Héritier Wata carries forward the great tradition of Congolese rumba with passion.
