Born on 28 May 1998 in Cocody, Ivory Coast, Abdul Rahim Bakayoko Souleymane, known as Himra and nicknamed "Le Chetté," started out with the group SBS before breaking through as a solo artist. A devoted fan of trap and drill from the southern United States, he adapted those sounds to the Ivorian scene and became one of the pioneers of local drill music. His album "Jeune & Riche" (2024) was a resounding success, certified double platinum and then diamond within less than a year. Crowned Primud d'Or 2025 and named best francophone rap artist at Abidjan's urban music awards, Himra has established himself as one of the most promising rising stars of Ivorian rap.
