Magic System is an Ivorian group formed in 1996 in Abidjan by A'Salfo, Goudé, Tino and Manadja. Drawing on zouglou, the Ivorian musical and cultural movement born in the 1990s to express the realities of youth, the group broke through in France in 2002 with the worldwide hit 1er Gaou, remixed by Bob Sinclar. Further success followed in 2009 with Même pas fatigué, a duet with Khaled, and in 2011 with Chérie Coco, from the album Touté Kalé. Tireless ambassadors for African music worldwide, Magic System turned zouglou into an international pop phenomenon while staying true to its Ivorian roots and its upbeat, unifying message.
