Notting Hill Carnival 2026: Europe's biggest Caribbean carnival
Notting Hill Carnival returns to London on 30-31 August 2026. Here's what you need to know about Europe's biggest Caribbean carnival.
Every year in late August, London's Notting Hill neighbourhood turns into a huge Caribbean celebration. Notting Hill Carnival draws over two million visitors across two days, making it Europe's biggest street event.
Key dates for 2026
- Saturday 29 August: Panorama competition (steel bands), the opening event
- Sunday 30 August: Children's Day, from 10am
- Monday 31 August (UK bank holiday): main parade, from 10:30am
Free entry, a unique atmosphere
Access to the carnival is completely free. Feathered costumes, sound-system floats, steel bands and the smell of jerk chicken set the rhythm for these two days in the streets of West London.
