Biography

Waly Dia is a French comedian and actor born in 1988 in Grenoble, to a French mother and a Senegalese father. After starting out as a dancer, he broke into comedy in Nantes in 2010 before catching attention on Laurent Ruquier's "On n'demande qu'à en rire" on France 2, becoming a regular cast member in 2011. Spotted by Jamel Debbouze, he joined the Jamel Comedy Club troupe in 2012. Known for his high-energy sketches and his striking ability to switch voices mid-routine, Waly Dia represents a new generation of comedians who tackle social issues with wit and conviction.
