PLK, born Mathieu Pruski, is a French rapper born in 1997 in Paris, of Polish and Corsican descent — his stage name is a nod to the word "Polak." He first made a name for himself with the group Panama Bende before going solo in 2017 with the mixtapes Ténébreux and Platinum, then broke through with the album Polak (2018), certified double platinum. He reached an even wider audience in 2021 with the hit single Petrouchka, featuring Soso Maness. Blending a melancholic flow, sharp punchlines and modern urban sounds, PLK has become one of the defining voices of his generation in French rap.
