Star Academy

Star Academy is a cult French televised singing competition created in 2001 by Endemol and broadcast on TF1, adapted from the Dutch format Star Maker. The concept brings together a group of young talents who live in a château and take intensive classes in singing, dance and stage performance, culminating each week in a live prime-time show where the public gradually votes contestants off. Historically hosted by Nikos Aliagas, the show has launched the careers of many artists who went on to become mainstays of French music, before making a celebrated comeback on TF1 in 2022. Having become a genuine cultural phenomenon and a major musical springboard, Star Academy now lives on through live tours and shows reuniting its alumni, to the delight of its ever-loyal fanbase.
